New Schedule Information

Church Family,

These are exciting times at Kathleen Baptist! God is doing wonderful things in our church and that is exciting! The wonderful God things include changing lives, giving faith and salvation, connecting people to Jesus loving people, serving, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus, healing, reconciliation, making disciples, and sending us out as to join Him increasing His Kingdom. With excitement, there is also change. God is bringing people to our fellowship. I, and my family, are part of this growth of new people. We have found a great place with wonderful people, and we are growing in our connections and spiritual life. Many of you have a similar experience. We want more people to experience what God is doing at Kathleen Baptist Church!

New Schedule

How are we changing to disciple more people and connect more people? We are creating a second Sunday School opportunity. With this change, we continue worshipping together in one central worship time. The Sunday School change allows us to double our space for classes, move people out of closet/storage spaces, and use our building as good stewards to disciple and connect people effectively. The new Sunday schedule will be:

Sunday School 1 - 8:30am – 9:30am

Worship & KB Kids Church - 9:45am – 10:45am

Sunday School 2 - 11:00am – 12:00pm (Noon)

The Decision

How was this decision made? There were hours of prayer and spiritual discernment guiding this process. The staff discussed ideas. The church council discussed ideas (ministry leaders and committee chairs). Sunday School leaders were part of the discussion. Sunday School directors visited Sunday School classes and discussed ideas. Two town hall meetings were held for general church input and discussion. A survey was distributed, and 241 surveys were collected from people in middle school to senior adults! All these points of interaction were ways you expressed ideas and influenced the decision. Thank you for participating in the process!

Here are a few factors you shared that influenced this decision.

1. Our families with First Responders have a great need and desire to be a part of serving, worshiping, and Sunday School.
2. Our Youth have a great need and desire to be a part of worship and Sunday school.
3. Our special needs class want to continue using their current classroom and stay connected as a multi-generational group.
4. We want and need to connect guests from Worship to Sunday School.
5. An overwhelming majority of our church are flexible to adjust to a schedule that works well to disciple and connect people.

What classes will meet at each Sunday School time? Here is general information about class assignments. Specific classes/teachers are communicated on the sheet included with this letter.

Sunday School 1 – 8:30am – 9:30am

Senior Adults and people without kids or youth

Worship, Nursery, & KB Kids - 9:45am – 10:45am

Sunday School 2 – 11:00am – 12:00pm (noon)

Preschool, KB Kids, KB Youth, people with kids and youth

Good Things are Coming

Change and growth can be difficult. This schedule is not perfect and does not resolve all the issues that may arise. This schedule does give us a wonderful opportunity to disciple more people, continue connecting people into our community through two vibrant Sunday School opportunities. 

This new schedule begins Sunday, February 2, 2025. Pray and talk about this as a family. Pray about this with your Sunday School class. Share this with your friends and ask them to pray. We want to respond to God’s exciting work to grow His kingdom, make disciples who make disciples, and connect people with God’s church.

KB Kids changes

KB Kids

1. Kindergarten - 5th Grade: Child/Children go with parents to “Big ‘Church”. All K-5th Graders will be dismissed following Worship Songs. Children will walk to the Church Foyer. Mr. Seth and KB KIDS Church Volunteers will greet the Children, line them up, and walk them to the Youth Center. The Youth Center will be our new location for KB KIDS Church!

2. KB KIDS CHURCH: All Kindergarten - 5th Graders will be with Mr. Seth and the KB KIDS Church Weekly Volunteers for a KIDS Worship program that provides solid biblical teaching, engaging worship, group games, and take-home family resources which is all wrapped in a fun, energetic experience that our kids truly enjoy!

3. KB KIDS Sunday School: Mr. Seth and the KB KIDS Church Weekly Volunteers will relocate  All Kindergarten - 5th Graders to their Sunday School Classrooms. Children will receive a snack and have a bathroom break before S.S. Class begins!

4. KB KIDS Dismissal/Pick-Up: All Kindergarten - 5th Graders will need to be picked up immediately after Adult S.S. Classes are completed. Dismissal and Pick-Up will be at your Child's S.S. Classroom with their S.S Teacher. Pick-Up before 12:10pm! 

Preschool

Childcare (Babies- PreK): All children not yet in Kindergarten will spend their Sunday mornings in our KB Preschool Department. 

• Drop-Off Begins @ 9:30am
• Children will be in their age appropriate classrooms with our Childcare Volunteers during their 1st hour on campus.
• Once “Big Church” has ended, our Preschool Sunday School Teachers will take over and our children will have Sunday School.
• Children need to be picked up immediately after Adult S.S. Classes are completed. Dismissal and Pick-Up will be located at the Preschool Pick-Up/Drop-Off Corridor. 
• Pick-Up before 12:10pm! 

NO CHILDCARE SUPERVISION PRIOR TO BIG CHURCH!
